Where exactly does one draw the line between someone who uses a camera and someone who calls themselves a photographer? Today, nearly everyone carries a smartphone equipped with a high-resolution camera; does this mean that anybody can become a photographer? Neither a high-priced camera setup nor practicing in front of a mirror while holding a camera will make you a better photographer, in my opinion. The most important thing to consider is whether or not you are more creative than ninety percent of individuals while taking images.
For me, the key is to always look at things in a different way. The term "photographer" has never accurately described me, and I refuse to start using it now. There is no credential for photography that I possess. I have spent the better part of the last decade honing my craft as a designer, and I spend the vast majority of my time doing so.
